Congratulations Eloise Atkinson, MSc!
Eloise Atkinson successfully defended her MSc thesis "Alternative energy metabolisms in nitrite oxidizers" on 24 March - congratulations Eloise!
For her Master's thesis, Eloise investigated the ability of several nitrite oxidizing bacteria to use formate as an additional energy source using growth assays and kinetic analyses. Her work highlighted the broad metabolic versatility of this functional group.
The board of examiners included Wolfgang Wanek, Barbara Bayer and Petra Pjevac (all CeMESS).
