Antibiotic resistance poses one of the greatest threats to global health today. The latest episode of the German science documentary series ARD Wissen dives deep into this pressing issue, exploring innovative approaches like phage therapy as potential solution.

Nina Bartlau from DOME contributed her expertise to this program. She explains the essential steps of phage research, from sampling environmental sources to isolating bacteriophages (phages). The segment featuring Nina emphasizes the pivotal role of phages in combating antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

Her contribution draws from findings in her research, including the study “Highly diverse flavobacterial phages isolated from North Sea spring blooms,” published in The ISME Journal.
