Sergey Zotchev, Alexander Loy, Thomas Rattei, and Martin Zehl received funding from the University of Vienna to pursue an innovative approach to create defined, fully tractable microbial communities that produce novel secondary metabolites with potential to be developed into drugs.
Research platforms are organisational units, established between faculties at the University of Vienna in order to promote especially innovative research areas. They address academic questions that can only be studied from an interdisciplinary perspective.
