Dr. Qi Qi
Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre for Microbiology and Environmental Systems Science

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Vienna, specializing in microbial ecology, environmental genomics, and biogeochemical cycling. My research focuses on how microbial communities respond to global climate change and extreme environments, ranging from alpine grasslands to the deep ocean. By integrating multi-omics analyses and ecological modeling, I aim to uncover the functional traits and ecological mechanisms that regulate soil carbon fluxes and methane dynamics. I received my Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University and previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the International Center for Deep Life Investigation. My overarching goal is to link microbial processes to global carbon cycling and understand their roles in maintaining ecosystem stability under environmental change.
